Privacy Policy
Last Updated: November 25, 2025
Overview
Tick2 is a two-factor authentication (2FA) app that stores your authentication accounts securely on your device. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
Data Collection
We do not collect any personal data. Tick2 operates entirely on your device.
What Tick2 Stores Locally
- Your 2FA account secrets (encrypted in a local database)
- App preferences (theme, biometric settings)
- No analytics, tracking, or usage data is collected
Cloud Sync (Optional)
If you choose to enable cloud sync:
- iOS/macOS: Data is stored in your personal iCloud account
- Android: Data is stored in your personal Google Drive account (app-specific folder)
Your data is encrypted with a password you choose before being uploaded. Neither Apple, Google, nor we can read your synced data.
Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, or transmit any of your data to third parties. Your 2FA secrets never leave your device unless you explicitly enable cloud sync.
Data Security
- All 2FA secrets are stored in an encrypted SQLite database
- Optional biometric authentication protects app access
- Cloud sync data is encrypted with your personal password before upload
Data Deletion
- Uninstalling the app removes all local data
- Disabling cloud sync removes the sync password; cloud data remains until you enable sync on another device
- Use "Reset All Accounts" in Settings to permanently delete all accounts
Children's Privacy
Tick2 does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date.
